This work was inspired by the book "We Should All be Feminists" written by Nigerian novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie in 2014 and inspired by her TED Talk which covered the same subject.
After reading the book I translated the text into feelings and ideas it provoked in me. I then translated these feelings and ideas into abstract colors and shapes. I asked myself "How do I translate gender equality into color? How do I translate women's rights into shapes?" I thought about inverting and overlapping triangles, symbolizing male and female. I translated sexuality into reds and achievement and equality into gold.
