These gesture/ sketch drawings embark on a thorough investigation of the relationships between body and space. By continuously looking at the model (not guessing what they look like) and moving through the page consistently, I establish points of intersection, angles, areas of support and balance which eventually lead to the formation of a figure in space. The key is to constantly be open to re-adjustments, to make the best use of the amount of space on the page and to create a sense of movement even though the figure is often static.
